Show name: Infernal Affairs Barn name: Fernie Age:17 Breed:Unknown (most likely anglo-arabian or thoroughbred) Height: 17.1hh Gender: Gelding Discipline: Three Day Eventing (Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country) and some trail riding experience
Owner/Rider: Sydney Virginia Cross/whoever has her express permission - lesson horse
Personality: With a name as Infernal Affairs, people expect a hellish monster. Fernie ain't that way. Well, unless you count a sensible, sensitive and strong-willed horse as a hellish monster, that is. Yes, Fernie can be a difficult horse, not always allowing riders to take control, but there's not an ounce of mean-ness in him. His big heart is made of gold and even if he tries to test his riders a bit, once you've convinced this big gelding you are worth his loyalty, he'll do everything in his power to please you. Well, as long as you are confident. If you hesitate, so will he, but when it is easy enough (beginner jumps, for example) he'll be a gentleman and take you over it.
Don't mistreat him, though, because mister here has quite a memory when it comes to those who have done him wrong. And while he may not kick them out of his stall (don't tempt him!) they will receive a cold shoulder - Fernie will do a lot to not have to work with or for them. History: Not much of Fernie's history is known until he was six years old, when he sired a few foals that drew attention because of their size. Two years later, he popped up in an auction, with no papers to speak of (in fact, his parentage is unknown). It was obvious he was a high strung horse though, and on occasion it seemed he displayed some racing skills. However, mr. Marks bought the big stallion from that auction because he saw some potential in him. With some time in the pasture to unwind and some 'snip snip' to make him a gelding, he saw it as an excellent challenge for his newest employee, miss Cross, to teach the gelding to behave and become a good riding horse before deciding what should happen next with 'Fernie'.
Well, the story is pretty well known by now - it clicked between Sydney and Fernie, she trained him for three day eventing and together they excelled, drawing a lot of attention. Now, it was unfortunate that Fernie was a gelding even if it had majorly improved his behavior. Starring in several big competitions, Fernie's name was set (as was that of his rider). Until a little over a year ago, that was, because then, due to some hesitance from a distracted Sydney on his back and his own misjudgement, Fernie went down. Fast and hard, and rolling over Sydeney. Although the damage could have been far worse, he did hurt a tendon and had a hairline fracture (both left fore) which took quite some time to properly heal. As Sydney already had contemplating retirement for the big, co-owned horse, she got a deal that she could have him and would retire him peacefully. Not that the big guy felt much for it - so when she took the new job, she decided that, with some supervision from her (and the final yes or no whether a person could ride/use Fernie) she could use her one-time star as lesson horse.

BUCCANEER - - - - - - - - - Stock: Found long, long ago on some RP and then put it in my photobucket...
Show name: Buccaneer Barn name:Buck Age:14 Breed:Trakehner Height: 16.3hh Gender: Stallion Discipline:Dressage, Three Day Eventing (= dressage, Show Jumping & Cross Country), some trail riding experience
Owner/Rider:Sydney Virginia Cross/whoever has her permission - lesson/lease horse
Personality:'Buck' is a true gentleman in almost every way. Well-mannered, mellow, careful and obedient, it seems there are no cons to this beautiful grey horse. However, when you're in the saddle Buck does have some tricks up his sleeve, although it generally only happens on first times; first time riding him, first jump, first course, first competition. If you can sit out a few (impressive) bucks and aren't quickly intimidated, this is no issue at all.
Outside, he always has impeccable manners; on the halter, in the pasture, even some natural horsemanship-like tricks are no problem whatsoever. He even likes to cuddle now and then. There actually are only two other cons to this horse: he gets pretty hot on the cross country course, and he really hates the water jumps - it takes a very convincing rider to get him over or through them. History: Bred on the Marks' farm, Buccaneer was meant to become a performance horse. Handled from a young age and broken in when he was three, Buck showed enough promise for dressage, so that was the discipline he was trained in. Although not exceptional his scores always were solid and he often brought in some ribbons - enough reason to keep him going like that.
It was only after some other Marks' employees had seen what Sydney could do with Infernal Affairs that one of the trainers was tasked with checking out if they had other of these multifunctional horses. Buccaneer popped up, and went into training as well. Although less of a stellar career than with Fernie, Sydney did compete on him a few times succesfully, before he got another rider, even if Sydney was the one still training him. Due to declining ambition from that rider and the aging of Buccaneer, mr. Marks, still in a very gullible mood, gave Buccaneer as a present to Sydney Cross so she could use him as a lesson horse too, if she wanted. After all, she had laid the basis of their succesfull three day eventing branch of the stables and in Buccaneer of course.

Show name: Taras Barn name:Tar, Taras Age:8 Breed:Akhal Theke Height: 16.0hh Gender:Stallion Discipline:Three Day Eventing (Dressage, Show Jumping & Cross Country), racetrack experience, some trail riding experience
Owner/Rider:Sydney Virginia Cross/Sydney Virginia Cross
Personality:Taras isn't the kind of horse you easily thrust into the care of others. Not that people easily would accept to take care of him. He is fierce, feisty and strong-willed, and on top of that pretty selective in who he dares to trust. This horse only accepts one person as an equal and only for that person will he give his everything. To that person, he is a surprising sweet horse, sensitive, quick to react to, well, any sort of stimuli out there, but not malignant. He still regularly tests whether his rider/handler is paying attention.
To those not in his circle of trust, Tar is quite a handful to handle. If he doesn't ignore whoever is trying to handle him, he's kicking up a riot. And unfortunately his voice tends to be heard. Rearing, kicking or biting are no exception if you double cross him, but he never starts it without some sort of reason. If you are just standing in front of his stall, you're save, but when walking with him and yanking to hard on the rope can be enough of a reason to him - and even then he'll warn first. One time.
In the pasture he's rather well-mannered, but the stall isn't his favorite place - he tends to be 'nervous' there, pacing, neighing and in general working up a sweat. It's almost as if he's claustrophobic. Along with that, he's obviously not too fond of trailers and such.
History: Although it is unclear as to where Taras originally came from, records show him on a 'special breeds race' when he's a little over two-and-a-half years old and (both literally and figuratively) beats the hell out of the rest. During the year that follows, mentions of him keep popping up if you know where to look in the records, when suddenly he makes a real entry at a racetrack and succesfully defends his honor in the steeplechase races held there. However, his difficult nature quickly make him too much for his owner, and he's sent to auction.
Over two years long Taras keeps moving from barn to barn, pasture to pasture, until he's bought by Sydney V. Cross, who's seen him before and has fallen in love with the pale golden rebel. At the Marks' farm, Tar earns his freedom for a while, before Sydney slowly starts working with him. At an almost imperceptible slow pace, they both grow togheter. It takes her three months to even get in the saddle, but when she does, there are only a few minutes of fierce resistance. From that day on, rides in the arena but also on trails are common place for both of them, until she slowly starts taking him over jumps too. Then, her accident with Fernie happened, and she was a few months out of the running, which meant a lot of groundwork for Taras again. Somehow, it worked for them, though, and when she got back in the saddle eventually the combination was ready for pretty everything. Now they are starting in intermediate competitions, Taras ready to burst out of his skin and show off his talent.

Show name: Midnight Mayhem Barn name:May, Night, Mimi Age:9 Breed:Unknown x Irish Hunter Height: 17.0hh Gender:Mare Discipline:Three Day Eventing (Dressage, Show Jumping & Cross Country), some trail riding
Owner/Rider: Sydney Virginia Cross/Sydney Virginia Cross
Personality: Sensitive, strong-willed and (over)eager, May isn't as easy as her barn name suggests. She really is her father's daughter, not only inheriting his impressive height or even coming close to his color, but also some of his (less good) character traits. Just like him, she's sensitive, sensible, always alert, not quick to surrender to a rider/handler and least of all willing to take 'crap' from others, May can be marked as a difficult horse. She hasn't mellowed out in the years past, yet, but as long as you are patient with her, there's a big chance you'll earn a place in her heart. And just like her father, she'll be loyal to a fault and give everything she has when she deems you worthy of that.
May is quite picky about who she likes or not when it comes to other horsey companions - stallions seldom are welcome and when around other mares she tries to play the dominant card, which often works. She's fair in that, though - not the petty chasing around of poor other mares just because she can. When handled on the ground she's surprisingly well-mannered, even if she on occasion is known to open a lock (or two). History: Bred before her father (Infernal Affairs) was sold to the Marks' farm, not much is known of her early years, other than that she's probably handled fairly strictly as a filly. Only after she was a year or five old did mentions of her pop up here and there - having been in training for over a year, talent showed through, just as the likeness to her father. In an attempt to raise money, she was sent to the auctions and bought by Sydney Cross.
However, her training seemed to be spotty and far from flawless, even in such a bad state that the worries caused her owner to misjudge an obstacle and pretty much crash. A lot of groundwork followed on that, which seemed to help the mare build up a connection with her owner. And well, that seemed to be the magic ingredient; the spark was there, broke out into a wildfire, and now they are close to getting unstoppable.
